The year 2018 was very bad for digital rights and Human Rights in India. Narendra Modi led government imposed Orwellian and unconstitutional Aadhaar upon Indians in most barbaric manner. Bad policy decisions like demonetisation were also imposed without any second thought.
As a result many people died of starvation and lack of employment. But Indian Supreme Court was least affected by these casualties. In fact, Supreme Court sided with Indian government and perpetuated atrocities upon Indians.
Meanwhile, Modi government continued to take away Fundamental Rights of Indians piece by piece. A major focus of Modi government was to enhance unconstitutional e-surveillance capabilities of intelligence and law enforcement agencies of India. Modi government killed the public grievance system on the one hand and forced social media companies to censor and engage in surveillance on the other.
We at Perry4Law Techno Legal Base (PTLB) found the situation very alarming as Executive, Judiciary and Parliament are working in collaboration to compromise Rule of Law and Indian Constitution. We ascertained that the surveillance activities of Indian government are not only violating civil liberties of Indians but they are also making India vulnerable to cyber crimes and cyber attacks.
So we decided to work on two fronts simultaneously. First we gave an alternative grievance redressal portal to Indians where they can report privacy data protection, cyber law, cyber security and many other violations and breaches. We are helping national and international stakeholders to resolve their complaints free of cost. Secondly, we have also strengthened cyber crimes and cyber attacks fighting capabilities of India through our online platform. People can report any cyber crime and cyber attack on our portal and we would pursue the same with Indian authorities. This is in addition to our fight against Aadhaar for the past 9 years.
We have also launched a professional online dispute resolution (ODR) portal for national and international stakeholders so that these stakeholders can use our portal for resolving various present and future disputes. All that is needed an ODR clause that they have to incorporate in their agreements.
Another landmark achievement of PTLB is India’s exclusive e-courts consultancy and training portal that is first of its kind not only in India but also world wide. We are helping national and international stakeholders in establishment and management of e-courts.
The focus of all our projects is to strengthen human rights and digital rights of Indians and other stakeholders. We are ensuring access to justice and justice for all while keeping in mind disaster risk reduction and resilience for all objectives.
